On the 10th November 2025, the United States Department of War (DoW) starts enforcing global Defence Industry (DIB) compliance with CMMC. CMMC is the DoW’s cybersecurity program that requires compliance with its 2016/ 2017 Acquisition Regulation DFARS 252.204-7012 and the implementation of FAR 52.204-21, NIS SP 800-171 and NIST SP 800-172.

At Veritas GRC, we believe that cybersecurity risk management is a Top 3 global risk. It is a risk that affects National, Economic, and Societal Security. It is a risk that national states have had little choice by to regulate to enforce management. Demonstrated by the DoW and its CMMC compliance program.

Unless a covered contractor can demonstrate the required compliance with DFARS to the DoW, a procurement officer cannot award new contracts or contract options.
