One has discussed the cybersecurity of EV charging and charging infrastructure for some time. NIST has now published a draft CSF profile for EV Extreme fast Charging Infrastructure. Drafting a baseline standard for cybersecurity compliance for EV extreme fast charging that supports Electric Vehicles (EV); Extreme Fast Charging (XFC); XFC Cloud or Third-Party Operations; (iv) and Utility and Building Networks.
The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) recognize CSF profiles as a framework for managing cybersecurity across many industry sectors. One suspect that CSF profiles will be used to drive cybersecurity risk management compliance.
