One impact of regulation is that those being regulated will find a way. In this case ESG regulation has led to a re-allocation of funds claiming to be ESG compliant. That may not have been as compliant as fund managers first thought.
Regulatory scrutiny appears to be having an impact on investment decisions. Albeit a small one given the size of ESH funds, but an impact all the same. In what maybe a sign that regulatory scrutiny is changing the approach fund managers are taking to ESG funds.
