One wonders if the cards are stacked up against the audit community at present and recent failures of U.S banks and fines may not be setting the stage for a pleasant 12 months. It looks like UK financial regulators may not be taking a sympathetic line either, as comments that may have been made by the UK head of the Financial Reporting Council, Sir Jon Thompson come to light.

This is an important article for so many complex reasons, but one suspects that there maybe little sympathy from regulators. One expects that resolving concerns is not difficult, however recent banking failure in the U.S and Europe may raise some further concerns.

Thinking about cyber for one moment, there will be a requirement to oversight and assure cybersecurity compliance, that will require the audit community to step up and provide boards with adequate assurance of compliance. How will this happen?
