Thank you for posting Faisal Khan, the points you raise in your post are very topical. AI is without doubt a technology having a major affect on society. Last week the US President spent 4 days in the GCC discussing AI, defense and investment. With deals announced to invest in AI, cloud and defense technology.
AI is not intelligence. AI is reasoning, and it should not be considered a tool to replace us all just yet. AI has the potential to facilitate great change if we manage it appropriately. However it is a technology fraught risks and challenges with adoption.
Board governance over AI is one of the most important aspects of its adoption. If boards do not have appropriate and reasonable oversight and assurance over data, security and cloud infrastructure they will find it difficult to govern AI. Least of all if governments do not put in the necessary guard rails that society requires for AI to remain an ethical and unbiased tool, we can trust to deliver with integrity.
