Thank you for posting Rebecca Hopkinson, an interesting report.
Being parochial, when one considers the role of board and their management of cybersecurity risk and this report. One can understand why cybersecurity risk is being regulated.
Brian D. McCarthy when one reads that within the top 6 areas boards want more information on ‘Knowledge of Digital technologies’ (58%) position 1, New Workforce Models (27%) position 3 and ‘Risk Management Frameworks’ (26%), in position 4. Should shareholders be concerned?
It is likely the model of board governance will change over the next two years, when one considers cyber regulation alone. Cyber risk management regulation requires boards demonstrate governance, oversight, assurance and attestation at risk of civil or criminal penalties. Requiring knowledge of cybersecurity, new workforce models and risk management frameworks, Ted Dziekanowski.
It is clear that when one considers cyber risk management regulatory compliance; board oversight and assurance; cyber attack frequency, complexity and severity of impact, that boards cannot keep pace with the change and impact. Cyber or D&O insurance may not transfer all the risk.
