The Bank of England steps in line with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, as it calls in UK banks to discuss the risks reported by Anthropics’ latest AI model, Mythos. If all the reports are correct, Mythos is demonstrating its ability to identify software vulnerabilities, and it’s raising concerns that it could be used to breach the security of the financial system.
When one considers the complexity of cybersecurity, the power of AI, and the general lack of cybersecurity outside regulated industries. One is not sure what you can do to manage cyber risk actively, without a wholesale change in culture and cybersecurity risk management. One that the UK is not moving quickly enough to implement.
