The European Union (EU) is moving quickly to regulate the cybersecurity risk management of Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) providers, Financial Institutions (FIs) and the Manufacturers of ICT products and services. Regulation that includes EU NIS 2.0, DORA and the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and transfers the management of cybersecurity ‘Left of Bang’ to the balance sheets of covered entities to manage.

EU NIS 2.0 is an important Directive that will be transposed to EU Member State law within the next 21 months. It sets out requirements to harmonise cybersecurity and cybersecurity risk management across members states, their CNI providers and their supply chains.

In our paper Jamie Foster of Hill Dickinson LLP and I discuss the requirements of EU NIS 2, its role in wider EU cyber regulation, what it means for CNI providers and the potential to impact organisations that trade in and with EU CNI providers.
