The Federal government is pushing ahead with cyber and risk regulation. The Secretary of Homeland Security and Secretary of Commerce released a joint statement on the Department of Homeland Securitys issuance of preliminary Critical Infrastructure Control Systems Cybersecurity Performance Goals and Objectives. To be finalised over the coming months.

The memo sets out 9 cyber security preliminary goals for baseline objectives for Critical National Infrastructure providers. That include risk and governance, SCRM, System and Data CAI, training, awareness and incident response.

In a move which I believe sets out the intention to push FISMA, SCRM and NIST standards into CNI over the coming months.
