The meandering river of AI regulation may start to straighten out as EU GDPR regulation starts to align with the need to ensure that LLMs and their AI providers securely manage PII.

With regulatory scrutiny over AI increasing, as regulators take a hard look at how AI is being increasingly used to make autonomous decisions, how recruitment platforms are being developed and used, and how data is being shared globally.

Governance over AI is an increasingly important topic, requiring companies to carefully consider and demonstrate their management of AI risks. Risks that include security and privacy, bias, fairness and integrity, model autonomy, economic and social risks and misinformation. Risks that along side GDPR and the protection of personal data will become a focus for regulators going forward.
