The Nordic shipping industry is having a difficult time with cyber attacks. This is the third serious cyber incident I’ve seen in the past 3 weeks, 2 emanating from the ransomware group ‘Play’. LockBit recently hacked a Turkish Maritime organisation that provides services to their local shipping industry. One suspects hackers are targeting shipping services, as an attempt to impact maritime shipping.
EU NIS 2.0 will have a significant impact on the EU Shipping industry including inland and maritime, and the providers of ICT and security products and services to the Maritime industry.
