The regulatory regime developing around the United States Department of War CMMC program is taking shape. The DoW and U.S. Department of Justice has built a framework of enforcement that has national and international reach, and is setting precedence.

With several cyber DFARS cases successfully making their way to court in 2025, imposing significant fines for failed compliance. 2026 will be a year where we see many more cases tried, as the final rule is now in effect.
