The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee has voted to approve the Cybersecurity Awareness Act that requires CISA to provide regular guidance and resources to the public and private sectors on best practices related to cybersecurity.
The committee approved the DHS International Cyber Partner Act, enabling Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and CISA â¬Åto work with international partners on cybersecurity, and for other purposes,⬠and assign U.S. personnel to foreign locations to support DHS missions.
Both set to be challenging but necessary. With 99% of organizations being Small to Medium, one suspects that providing SMBs with cyber hygiene at such scale will be difficult, but necessary. In a positive move building relationships between the U.S and international partners on cybersecurity, to help harmonize cybersecurity has to be beneficial for the U.S and its allies. With the national, corporate and economic challenges of cybersecurity, partner collaboration is key if harmonisation of U.S and EU cyber regulation and implementation is to be achieved.
