There’s a crossroads ahead for AI users and developers. Alex Karp is completely correct. The revolution is Sovereign AI, and organisations should own the value that they create when they use AI. AI’s partners should own the value they create; enterprises control the weights, models, and IP that they use with AI to create value. What they create stays with them; pure intelligence and expertise stay with enterprises.

Alex Karp’s approach is not wrong, and he’s proving it. Growing his business model at rates greater than 90%, 85% pervious quarter growth, adjusted free cash flow at 63%. Growth not based solely upon tokenisation. The approach is changing the landscape of how AI is adopted.

AI models cannot own corporate expertise, cannot own corporate IP, and do not own how enterprises create value; unless they are software firms, they influence it. Organisations adopt technology to create value, and the same is true for AI. The knowledge, expertise, intelligence, and IP used to create value are owned by enterprises. Organisations that send their IP to Frontier models have to understand that they are using that data to learn and cannot guarantee security.
