This will be one to watch for the Crypto community as the SEC has issued a Wells Notice against Uniswap, one of the largest decentralized exchanges operating on Ethereum. The Wells notice focuses on Uniswap acting as an unregistered securities broker and unregistered securities exchange.
Crypto has is having and interesting time as regulators have struggled historically with how to treat and intimately regulate what has been an complex, relatively high value market.
The SEC and Federal government has a high win rate when it plays on home turf (90%) and above 60% win rate when cases go through Federal Court. A Wells Notice lifts the lid on data including transactional, corporate and financial, including communications.
