The PCAOB issued further civil penalties and barred senior leaders at KPMG and Deloitte this week over exam cheating, an issue the PCAOB has been dealing with for several years. Fining KPMG Netherlands $25 million and barring its former head of assurance permanently from the industry.
The PCAOB fines come on top of the fine levied by the SEC in 2019 against KPMG for $50 million and $100 million against EY in 2022.
