The big question Collins supports is what are societies going to do about cyber. The attack surface for cyber is not infinite, but it has to be the largest surface of any threat the public and private sectors face. Apart from biological threats or climate change.
Yet our approach to managing it is beyond woefull. Chicken Licken may not have been correct in his assumption that the sky is falling in. But there’s now more than 1 pine cone falling from the sky.
No amount of freeware is going to help, no amount of technology will address the problem. As Chris Inglis (US ONCD) said years ago, it requires a whole of society approach.
