A little something for the weekend sir.

Never let it be said that Critical National Infrastructure, Resilience and Cybersecurity aren’t connected. As Norwegian police formally attribute an incident at a dam in April 2025 to a Cyber attack by Russian Hackers.

The Hackers took control of the dam and released 1.9 million gallons of water, before the incident was detected and stopped. The average Norwegian uses around 140 gallons a day.

More importantly if you can hack to play around with SCADA system, you can also destroy assets. For a country that relies on hydro power, targeting CNI like water is part of the campaign that Russia is playing with the west, using Cyber as a domain of military operation. One must not forget the 2019 cyber attack on Norsk Hydro.
