Faisal Khan Accenture announced to the markets on Friday 20th June that it is changing its growth model through the adoption of Gen AI, effective 1st September 2025. A clear sign that AI is having a profound effect on the consulting industry.
Accenture is (re)branding itself as the ‘Reinvention Partner of Choice’, to be a leader in Gen AI. Seeing AI as an Industrial Revolution, that will reshape its growth model and its relationship with clients in creating value. Who would have thought that mass market AI solutions, less than 3 years old, would have such a significant impact across knowledge industries. Michael G. Jacobides?
Dan Miles as we have seen in the legal industry, Gen AI hallucinates. The challenge one sees for Accenture is the use of Gen AI. While its use in reducing high volume low value tasks is lauded, if you want to generate value from complex tasks the focus needs to be on Generative and Domain specific AI. Our cyber audit work demonstrated when one brings together domains of knowledge you reduce hallucinations, improve quality, reduce time and the cost of audits. Solely adopting Gen AI highlighted the lack of accurate information available when querying cyber standards, exacerbating GIGO. Whereas achieving accuracy, quality and minimising hallucinations required domain specific, agentic, LLMs. LLMs tailored to the knowledge accumulated from auditors, cyber professionals and trained by industry.
Tom McLeod, there’s a lack of the knowledge, skills and experience necessary to conduct cyber audits; a regulatory environment for boards to demonstrate cyber assurance, and a lack of board knowledge of cybersecurity. Your vison for AIs adoption in audit has allot of merit.
