It’s a very long game, and one does not think we’ve gotten to the end of the 1st quarter. Speaking in an open forum the director of the U.S Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Jen Easterly commented.

“I hope that people are taking seriously a pretty stark warning about the potential for China to use their very formidable capabilities in the event of a conflict in the Taiwan straits to go after our critical infrastructure.”

The comments followed recent reports that the DoD is concerned that defense infrastructure, system and CNI upon which the DoD relies, may have been compromised by China. In February 2023 the The U.S National intelligence Director raise similar concerns over Chinas Capabilities to disrupt critical infrastructure, including oil, gas and rail systems.

One wonders what happens next, the FUD debate over cyber has ended. While conspiracy theories may be abound, there is plenty of evidence to demonstrate that cyber poses a risk to the public sector, private sector, CNI and national security of nations.
