The global reliance on shipping cannot be underestimated, 90% of the carriage of world trade is due to shipping. There has been a dramatic reduction in physical losses, but all four of the largest shipping companies Maersk, Cosco, MSC (and CMA CGM) and the International Maritime Organisation have been targeted by hackers.
There is rising ad viable concern that the focus of cyber attacks may change from shore to vessel. The fly by wire nature of shipping and dependance on digital makes them a viable target.
