There is no capability more critical than European Defence security, coming at a time of unprecedented geopolitical tensions. Kinetic warfare and defence technologies are dependent on cybersecurity, and the security of weapon system data. Data that takes many forms, starting at the drawing board, through the production process, in-service, in-service support, and end of life.

The US Department of Defence has regulated the cybersecurity of its global Defence Industry Base for 8 years, and from the 10th November 2025, the DoD will formally introduce CMMC (DFARS 252.204-7021) across its global supply chain. Requiring the DIB to comply with cybersecurity requirements through certification, in addition to self-assessment, attestation, and affirmation. Without it, the DoD can decide not to award a new contract or option.

This is all part of the defence value chain, a value chain that cuts across kinetic and digital warfare.
