U.S water trade associations reaffirm their responsibility to manage cybersecurity threats, and the need for consistent reporting of cyber incidents. They seek clarification on and harmonisation of terminology that defines a water utility and the scope of coverage of water facilities over cybersecurity risk. The trade associations seek alignment with CISA definitions; seeks to cover public and private water treatment works and alignment of cyber regulatory reporting requirements between state and Federal Agencies.

One interprets the letter as one that reaches out to Federal Agencies looking for clarity over cybersecurity risk management and incident reporting. With the need to secure U.S water infrastructure.
