What does the future look like for cyber insurance? We’ve written many column inches discussing this topic.
Premium increases and cover restrictions have hidden the message associated with profits. There’s no answer yet to the 99% problem. The capital question remains unanswered for insurers and reinsurers (ILS are still a bad idea).
But the future however maybe looking up. Cyber regulation is now here for SEC registrants. The EU is regulating cyber in 2024. Transfering cyber risk back to boards. Failure to cyber regulation will likely invalidate D&O and cyber insurance.
One suspects the future looks better for insurers, as the coverage gap of their clients is forced to close.
