It has been discussed for some months that 23andMe faces delisting from the U.S stock market, as its share have remain under the $1 mark. Recognized a Silicon Valley Unicorn valued at $6billion, the company has seen a dramatic fall in its share price from over $17 in 2021 to below $1 today.
The stock has been on the side for some time, but it was not helped by the 2023 hack, that saw it lose an amount of its Intellectual property. Resulting in several class action law suits and bad press associated with the data theft and poor market sentiment that could further effect its liquidity. As its financial reserve are running low. The company has gone through 3 rounds of staff layoffs, cut backs and re-prioritization. There maybe little meat left to take off the bone.
