It’s fair to say Cyber faces a systemic problem, not just from cyber attacks. But in the board room, and it’s the board room that decides how the organisation behaves and responds is to cyber.
Cyber regulation attempts to change that. But shareholders don’t have the time, nor do we have the time as we consider the risk to society and national security.
We know what needs to be done, we just need to do it. In the West boards and governments need to demonstrate an understanding of cyber and adopt a strong line and leadership. After all the culture of our adversaries is more authoritarian and they seen the value of our inaction.
