Call us now:
Much of what the Popes say is written through a religious paradigm, but let’s face it, the Pope has 2000 years of thinking, knowledge, and experience to go on. Knowledge and experience that, if consumed, AI and subsequently society could benefit from, whether you are religious or not.
It is a very well-thought-out Encyclical and raises many critical observations for AI, as discussed below. Unfortunately, however, humanity has never been particularly good at adopting the lessons from history.
The technological future is not a destiny already written. It is a space to be written together, with wisdom, justice, and a conscience capable of remaining human.†— Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Vatican Secretary of State
