The Bank of England, Financial Conduct Authority, and HM Treasury have published a joint statement on AI models and cyber resilience. The statement highlights the need for Boards to have a sufficient understanding of AI and to set a strategic direction for the governance of AI risks. That in turn requires board oversight and assurance.

Firms should be able to triage, prioritise, risk assess, and remediate vulnerabilities more quickly, more frequently, and at scale, including through automation where appropriate, while mitigating the operational risks from doing so, which includes the risks associated with third-party adoption of AI.

We created our Board Governance of AI program to specifically address these issues.
