Thank you for posting Judy Selby. AI exclusions dominate. It’s a comprehensive report, and one suspects the game is afoot for organisations as insurers take notice of AI within insurance policies.
The battle lines are being drawn as state insurance regulators are paying attention to insurers’ intent to include or exclude AI from policies. The proliferation of AI, poor governance, poor security, and the simple fact that AI has a huge impact on business strategy and operations has resulted in some insurers bringing in outright exclusions across D&O and Employment Practices. While others have taken a more cautious wait-and-see approach, building up their data capture, the cyber insurers are identifying specific security domains covered by AI insurance.
The AI insurance debate will continue; it’s a conversation that is moving faster than cyber insurance. Time for the board to work out how they will govern AI risk and risk transfer.
