Cybersecurity risk management set out in cyber regulation requires a robust program of risk transfer. This involves both a focus on an organisation’s internal risk management processes to reduce inherent risk and its use of risk transfer products such as cyber insurance.

While, figures for the number of organisations that have implemented robust cybersecurity risk management practices are not known. The take-up of cyber insurance is a little clearer. UK Government figures put the take-up of cyberinsurance by UK companies at around 45%. In the ballpark of the enclosed report, which highlights that on average, only 47% of companies have cyber insurance (that’s a wild stab).
