Thank you for posting Rachel V. Rose, JD, MBA, we have jumped into AI both feet first. There are some very good reasons why. But………..

We are starting to see the power and problems associated with Gen AI, that has some resonance with previous transformational bubbles. There’s little doubt that AI is transformational, but, Gen AI LLMs are simply that, General Large Language Models. The trick is in the word, GENERAL.

AI has acted as a hoover of internet available data, or it has consumed copies of whatever text has been manually fed into it and consequences be damned. Or in the case of the legal profession, that tends to have a penchant for facts, and a inclination towards evidence based reasoning. Consequences be revered.

As this case demonstrates, AI is fraught with issues for the legal profession. That one wonders if it won’t end to well if legal ‘SnowFlakes’ get their way in dumbing down the profession. A profession that relies on knowledge skills and experience in judgement and decision making.

One wonders who picks up the bill in the case below?
