Tata Consultancy Services has come out publicly and stated that none of their systems were compromised in the recent Marks and Spencer cyber attack. That begs the questions, how did the hack take place?

One must remember that if you use a cloud service provider to deliver your services then the shared responsibility model will likely apply. The shared responsibility is a clear description of the services that are provided by a cloud provider and MSP. It details the roles and responsibilities between both the service provider and service user, amongst other things, for cybersecurity.

One should be clear about the controls that you inherit from a supplier. The controls that are shared between the customer and supplier, and those that the customer has to provide.
