Michael G. Jacobides, Gen AI is a powerful tool when used appropriately, but it has its flaws. Least of all its ability to reason with a level of accuracy needed for some industry sectors.

Your mention of the growth of agentic models and reasoning and embedding in complex information ontologies will help find use cases is an important observation. For those that focus on the use of AI in, or to replace, knowledge based industries. Agentic reasoning and the use of domain specific ontologies is an important consideration.

For cyber audit consuming the inherent knowledge held by auditors and cybersecurity professionals through domain specific ontologies, baselines AI against known information. Domain specific ontologies and domain specific LLMs ground AI reasoning against what is specifically known, rather than what is generally assumed. They improve reasoning as AI reasons against domain rather than general models.

The more ontological information provided the better the reasoning, that is critical for cyber audit. A process that our colleague Dan Miles has developed to automate the cyber audit. Reducing the effects of AI hallucinations and improving the quality of the output of cyber audit.
