This week is an important week for Marks and Spencer as it announces its annual financial results. All eyes will be on its on-going cyber attack, as both investors and customers look for more answers to what happened and to understand the impact of the attack on its financial statements.
There are reports that the cost of the attack could be as large as £200 million. One wonders how much the £200 million will be affected by its £100 million insurance policy. However an impact of £100 million is not to be sniffed at, its around 15% of its 2024 reported pre-tax profits.
