The UK is stepping in line with its US and EU partners in making it clear that security software vendors need to improve the quality and security of their products. At a recent event NCSCs CTO made clear the market does not currently support and reward those companies that make that investment and build secure products. , So, we have a non-functional market,A message security vendors disagree with, yet a message that has been played to then in the US and EU, who have driven ahead with regulations to mandate the security of products and services sold in those jurisdictions. One is always interested with the market view of their products and services. Especially with a back drop of poor board engagement, an abject lack of knowledge of cybersecurity across the public and private sector to challenge vendors and the general FUD debate used to sell cybersecurity products and services. At no point on either side of this debate can anyone point to statistics that state that cybersecurity is being managed effectively, and for many reasons. It’s been well documented that market forces have failed to deliver cybersecurity and for many reasons. Product quality and security is critical to client security and the NCSC is making the point that security vendors need to sort our both.Question: Why have the US and EU moved to regulate security vendors products and services, and cybersecurity across the public and private sectors?https://lnkd.in/eYPrXYME.EU CRA, EU Cybersecurity Act, EU NIS 2, EU DORAhttps://lnkd.in/e3cnBquC@Thaddeus Dziekanowski Brian D.
