Why didn’t the cybersecurity industry think of that before.

Why didn’t the cybersecurity industry think of that before. Our complete and abject lack of a UK cyber strategy, boards failure to manage cybersecurity and consequently national security is all down to working from home…………..Maybe the reason why the UK, and other nations are ‘sitting ducks’, as one has written many time over the past 10 years. Is that cybersecurity has been ignored by boards, who’ve played a game of Russian Roulette, that’s now starting to catch up with them; maybe its the lack of a national defensive cybersecurity strategy, when our partners have adopted cyber regulation; maybe its not recognising cyber as a national security risk; maybe it’s not providing companies with a clear steer on what and how to manage cybersecurity; maybe it’s the abject failure of market forces to manage cybersecurity; maybe it’s not recognising the lack of knowledge, skills and experience required to manage cyber risk and set professional standards? All to complex issues to point to rather than ‘working from home’.Working from home is a cyber risk, it’s one of many. Pointing to its a cause of the M&S, CooP and Harrolds problem absolves the major issues the UK faces with cyber. Boards have a fiduciary responsibility for managing all risks and governments have a responsibility where necessary (and national security is necessary) for setting the guard rails for cybersecurity.@Thaddeus Dziekanowski Brian D.
