Thank you for posting Oliver F. Gosemann, a great summary demonstrating the challenges boards face with cybersecurity risk management.

A worrying 66% of companies believe that their organisations face an existential threat from cyber.

Cyber is no longer an informal conversation or risk that sits in the corporate back yard to be discussed over the water cooler. It’s a Geopolitical risk, a risk to national, economic and societal security. A risk that is being regulated by nation states and industry regulators driving civil and criminal liabilities.

It’s also a risk demonstrated by the finding in the enclosed report (another report), of the effects cyber has in the board room and across corporate supply chains. The outcomes of are now being addressed by U.S, EU and APAC regulators. Introducing regulations that in some cases come with personal and corporate civil and criminal liabilities.

There’s still a worrying lack of understanding of cybersecurity in board rooms across the U.S, EU and APAC. A lack that maybe tested through regulatory compliance and investor confidence before to long.
