And the mother ship calls home. There comes a time when one comes to the realization that digitial and cyber are national security issues. Issues that requires public and private sector boards to ask questions about cyber risk. In this case the South Korean military removed 1,300 cameras from bases, when they discovered they were sending videos back to a Chinese server.

The cameras, which were supplied by a South Korean company, were found to be designed to be able to transmit recorded footage externally by connecting to a specific Chinese server, the outlet reported an unnamed military official as saying.

At a time when other nations have banned the use of Chinese made surveillance equipment.
