Well worth a read on the Crowdstrike incident.

Well worth a read on the Crowdstrike incident. Is one saying that those involved in the Crowdstrike incident were aware that such an event could take place? Is one saying that it took such an event as that on the 19th of July to surface the concern?

‘In a significant shift in the security landscape, CrowdStrike appears to be aligning with Microsoft’s demand to reconsider kernel-level access for security vendors after CrowdStrike’s Falcon update sent Windows servers and PCs across the globe into an endless reboot cycle.’

By providing security vendors access to Kernel-level drivers with the same level of access the is afforded to Microsoft. Was the Crowdstrike incident just waiting to happen, and unfortunately it was Crowdstrike that triggered it. Would an alternative solution have prevented the global outage. A solution the Crowdstrike seems to be backing.

Does this affect the various legal cases that are now in train for Crowdstrike?
