The Crowdstrike incident highlights the challenges insurers and the insured face with ICT risk transfer and non malicious incidents.

The global footprint of vendors such as Crowdstrike; the depth of systems access; reliance on security vendors by customers and the lack of security and risk professionals on both sides, only increases the risk to insurers.

While the actual cost if the Crowdstrike incident will never be known, but must be greater than Not Petya. It won’t take to many ICT risk related incidents to effect loss ratios.
