The new UK government has moved to reform audit, corporate governance and the creation of a more powerful accounting regulator, in the King’s Speach.

The draft accounting and corporate governance bill sets out to reform UK corporate regulation. Aiming to tackle bad financial reporting and sanction directors and boards of companies for failing to meet their financial reporting duties.

So maybe we’ll see cybersecurity risk management hit the board room of UK companies after all? Cyber is the biggest risk to UK companies and creates significant financial risk. As we’ve seen with recent U.S hacks.
