An interesting article on the UnitedHealth cyber incident in the The Wall Street Journal. As more is known more questions are asked, raising questions over the cybersecurity risk management of the company. Leading up to the publication of the event in February, and subsequent remediation efforts.

One is concerned that it has taken so long to restore systems of the largest clearinghouse for medical payments in the U.S. The cost of remediation dwarfs the costs of cybersecurity risk management. That will no doubt raise questions of managements response to cybersecurity and the protection of what is CNI. Questions that regulators and lawyers will start asking, given the cyber regulation that is in place covering UnitedHealth.
