The Big 4 story from Australia is probably no different for other jurisdictions. As regulators in the UK and U.S have also focused on big 4 consultancies, primarily across their audit practices. The big 4 have found themselves in front of regulators and the press many times over the past 3 years.

With cybersecurity in mind, if there is a move away from the big 4, where do organisations go? The cybersecurity risk management regulatory environment has grown rapidly. It requires boards oversight, assure and attest cybersecurity risk, a combination of advisory and independent audit.

As the article points out the challenge for the big 4 is one of trust. Trust that requires a demonstration of reliability, care and expertise to forge a client-firm relationship.
