MGM is suing the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and its chair Lina Khan, following the launch by the FTC of a probe into MGMs 2023 cyber attack. The court documents claiming that the FTC chair has what can only be described as a personal conflict in raising the probe, and the FTC has overstepped its jurisdiction as MGM is not a financial institution. The FTC is no doubt just one regulator that is reviewing MGM following the 2023 cyber incident. One suspects regulators including the SEC will be paying close attention to the cyber attack, what lead up to the attack and how the company responded. In addition to the class action law suits being bought against MGM.
