Why does one feel that this is just the tip of the iceberg, with 90% of it sitting below the water line?

In an indictment unsealed today (https://lnkd.in/eKUK8kNK), seven Chinese nationals are alleged to have hacked U.S government officials, their spouses and foreign dissidents.

At what point do we start to recognise the effects of cyber as a weapon of choice. One that has broad and deep implications for national and economic security. That is under resourced, under skilled and one that we are grossly unprepared for?

While one applauds the statements and sentiments made about the seriousness of such alleged actions. When does one match this with attestable and auditable action? To Quote the head of the FBI China already has a bigger hacking program than every other major nation combined, Wray said. If each one of the FBI’s cyber agents and intelligence analysts focused on China exclusively, Chinese hackers would still outnumber our cyber personnel by at least 50 to 1.
