Canada’s Financial Intelligence Unit FINTRAC has shut down some systems in response to a cyber attack.

As the department that detects, prevents and deters money laundering of the financing of terrorist activities, being affected by a cyber attack raises concerns.

Canada’s government agencies have suffered several cyber attacks recently. This latest breach, along side that on the Municipality of Hamilton adds to the list that incudes the RCMP, (https://lnkd.in/e6_bCc2y) and Global Affairs Canada (https://lnkd.in/esGcaz6u)
