Call us now:
When one looks over the past 5 years and the growth in frequency, complexity and severity of cyber attacks one wonders if we are quickly approaching a tipping point. A point whereby we, society, will find it difficult to control and manage cyber attacks and their consequences.
Just about every measure to evaluate cyber is going against us. Successful cyber attacks continue to increase, unabated. When one considers the number of public and private sector companies that can be affected by cyber attacks there isn’t enough insurance capacity; there aren’t enough skilled resources; there isn’t a sense of urgency and as this article points out. There is a lack of national strategies for the management of cybersecurity risks.
Many nations are adept at offensive cyber (see the recent takedown of the LockBit site). But what is their defensive strategy? The strategy that enables public and private sector organisations protect their and our digital assets from cyber attacks? There are few solutions and time may not be on our side.
Or maybe it’s just doom and gloom and the problem will go away?
