Thank you for posting Olaf Classen, it is a very unfortunate event for all those effected. Managed Services within the health care sector provide a valuable role, but they come with risks. Such as concentration risk, that the current incident in Romania demonstrates. As over 100 hospitals have been effected by the cyber attack on the Hipocrate Information System (HIS).
One hopes that there is a reasonable and quick resolution to the incident. Access to patient records is critical to safe healthcare.
If there were a need to demonstrate why EU NIS 2 and Resilience of Critical Entities Directives are necessary, this is it. Boards of healthcare organisations and Managed Service Providers need to demonstrate their understanding and reasonable and adequate management of cybersecurity risk.
