The Dutch, now the Danes, wait for the next country to follow now precedence has been set. What does this tell us about cybersecuirty risk management in EU countries.
Compliance to NIS will be a challenge for EU Nations and their covered companies, as we wrote last year. Postponing is indicative of the issues many EU countries have with managing cybersecurity and the complexities of integrating it into local laws.
When you read the regulation you understand that compliance is not an IT issue it’s a board, governance, risk management and resource problem to resolve. Whose solution is focused on governance, oversight and assurance, not IT. You will never be able to demonstrate full compliance, but you can demonstrate reasonable and adequate compliance.
