The UK Government has opened a call for evidence, for its proposals for A Cybersecurity Governance Code of Practice.

UK partners such as the U.S and EU have recognised that market forces have not been effective at enforcing cybersecurity risk management in the board room. Moving ahead to regulate Capital Markets, CNI providers and Financial Institutions comply with cybersecurity risk management regulation. Regulation that requires boards of covered entities demonstrate cybersecurity risk management governance, as part of their program of regulatory compliance.

Cyber governance is a critical component of a organisations program of cybersecurity risk management. Boards, Directors and Officers govern an enterprises management of cyber risk, directing cybersecurity risk management from the board room through governance frameworks. Enabling the oversight, assurance and attestation of cybersecurity risks to manage

Cyber is not a risk that the UK government manages well. Demonstrated by the December 2023 Parliamentary report (https://lnkd.in/eZZKUNMu). But with cybersecurity risk management is rapidly becoming a tool for international trade and cooperation, one suspects that UK government is working to align UK board cyber compliance with that of its partners. To support UK firms align cybersecurity risk management compliance with that of its allies.
